Bored with Facebook? Tired of Twitter’s character limits? Had enough of Pinterest inspiration? If you’re looking to shake up your social media life, here are 3 up and coming social media platforms to watch in 2020.
Houseparty is a video chat app for friends. It also incorporates games you can play online with your friends. It’s great for group chats. Say goodbye to group texts with constant notifications and say hello to group video chats. Houseparty is like WhatsApp, but classier.
This is how Houseparty describes itself: Houseparty is a social networking service that enables group video chatting through mobile and desktop apps. Users receive a notification when friends are online and available to group video chat.
Houseparty is available on both Google Play and the App Store.
With All.me Pinterest meets Venmo meets issuu. It’s an odd mix of features that lets you post content in a Pinterest style stream while also getting paid, although it’s not sure what exactly people will be paying you for. You also have the option of creating your own magazine. The app is a little confused and seems to be going off in many different directions, but it is very promising.
All.me describes itself as being a new digital era and it is available on both Google Play and the App Store.
Now this is one platform that really excites users! With inLinx, Facebook meets LinkedIn meets an old school AOL Chatroom. The most important thing to take way from inLinx is that it lets you control so much of the platform – you can decide which features you see. For instance: not interested in a chatroom? Turn it off.
A notable feature is the ‘Treat As’ function that lets you add anyone you want as an app friend or linx, as inLinx calls it. But they understand that just because you want to connect with someone on a social media app doesn’t mean that you want them to see and know everything about you. inLinx lets you add friends without automatically making them privy to your personal details. Keep your private things private at the toggle of a switch.
